AP® exams are offered for subjects taught in our AP® program at PALY.
Check the College Board website https://apstudent.collegeboard.org for alternative exam locations for any exam PALY does not offer.
Please note that due to space constraints, Palo Alto High School will only be accepting registration from PAUSD students.

Please note that all GUNN students will be waitlisted. If you are waitlisted, you will not have an option to make payment until you are approved and taken off the waitlist. Once approved, you will receive an email from Total Registration to make payment.
Special Notes About AP® Chinese:
ALL students registering for the AP® Chinese exam will be automatically be waitlisted. PALY students enrolled in our AP Chinese class have first priority, followed by PALY students not enrolled in the course by grade level seniority.
- PALY freshmen - Please note that due to the high demand of the AP Chinese exam, it is unlikely that you will be able to take the test here at PALY.
Capacity Limitations - AP® English Language & Composition and AP® Chinese:
Due to capacity limitations, some students can expect to test on the late-testing dates. You will be notified of your testing date. Late testing dates include:
- AP® English Language & Composition - Wednesday, May 22 at 8AM
- AP® Chinese Language & Culture - Thursday, May 23 at 12PM

Studio Art: Friday, May 10 - Last day for coordinators to submit digital portfolios (by 8PM EST) and to gather 2-D Design and Drawing students for the physical assembly. Teachers should have forwarded students' completed digital portfolios to coordinators before this date.

You cannot take two tests at the same time, and PALY will decide which test you take first. For example, Chemistry and Spanish Literature & Culture. You’ll take one of them as a “Late Test.” Late Tests will be administered May 22-24. No extra fee is charged for schedule conflicts. Conflicts due to sports, college visits, or vacations must be pre-approved for late testing, and the $45 late testing exam fee will be applied. Free or Reduced Fees: Students who have a verifiable financial need are eligible for reduced fees. Please obtain a financial assistance form from your Guidance Counselor (need counselor signature) and bring completed form to the ASB bookkeeper.
Testing with Accommodations
February 23 is the final day to submit a request for testing accommodations to the College Board. Work with your Guidance Counselor or case manager to submit a request, if necessary. If you are already approved by the College Board for accommodations, you do not need to refile.
